Maria Teresa Positano

Maria Teresa Positano is a PhD candidate in Developmental Psychology at the University “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti-Pescara, Italy, and a Visiting PhD Student at the Sensitivity Lab. Her research explores the relationship between Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS) and autistic traits, with a particular focus on repetitive thinking styles, including rumination and metacognitive beliefs about rumination. She is interested in understanding how individual differences in sensitivity and autistic traits relate to emotional well-being and psychological vulnerability. Maria Teresa is also a psychologist and psychotherapist in training, and her broader research interests include developmental psychology, socio-emotional development, and mental health.
