Lessa Schippers

PhD Student

Lessa Madelief Schippers (she/her), MSc., is a PhD candidate at the department of Psychiatry of the Radboudumc (Nijmegen, the Netherlands) under supervision of Dr. Martine Hoogman and Prof. Corina Greven. Her research focuses on positive aspects and strengths of ADHD. She graduated cum laude from the bachelor Biomedical Sciences from Radboud University in 2020, during which she did an internship on ADHD and executive functioning at King’s College in London, UK, supervised by Prof. Philip Asherson and Prof. Greven. She continued with a master in Cognitive Neuroscience at the Radboud University, graduating cum laude in 2022. During her master, she did an internship with Dr. Hoogman on positive aspects of ADHD. Under the supervision of Dr. Hoogman and Prof. Greven, she wrote and was awarded a Radboudumc master-PhD grant for a four-year fully funded PhD position. During her PhD, she was awarded Cultuurfonds and KNAW Ter Meulen grants to spend four months at the University of Calgary in Canada, in Dr. Emma Climie’s lab, to learn more about strengths, social skills and friendship in children and adolescents with ADHD. She was part of the 2023-25 Training Upcoming Leaders in Paediatric Science (TULIPS) curriculum for talented and ambitious PhD candidates in Child Health.
