Prof. Dr. Corina Greven

3 Prof Corina Greven_1.jpg

Prof. Dr. Corina Greven is a psychologist and holds the first Chair in Environmental Sensitivity in Health. Her research focuses on fundamental differences in sensitivity to environmental stimuli, examining how heightened sensitivity to both negative and positive environments affects mental health and flourishing. A key goal is to understand how to prevent overstimulation - for example, through mindfulness-based approaches.

She takes a transdisciplinary approach, integrating research on traits and mental health conditions related to environmental sensitivity—such as ADHD, autism spectrum condition, and the personality trait Sensory Processing Sensitivity—forming an innovative niche in the field. Studying these constructs together offers deeper insight than examining them in isolation.

Prof Greven obtained her BSc (Hons) in Psychology from University College London (2007), followed by an MSc and PhD in Social, Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry from King’s College London (2008, 2011).

Prof. Greven has received funding from organisations including Horizon 2020, MIND Netherlands, and the Dutch Research Council (NWO), and contributes to the EU-AIMS-2-TRIALS network and Twins Early Development Study. She has supervised 10+ PhD students and received several scientific awards, including the Kramer-Pollnow Young Investigator Award for ADHD research.
